The house

The house provides a delightful holiday location for 2 people wanting a restful stay in the beautiful Burgundy countryside, handy for the wine, the food, the chateaux and the history!

It is very spacious and could easily accommodate more people, but we wish to provide you with a luxury setting in which you can “spread out” and feel at home. We don’t consider the house to be suitable for children.

There is an impressive ground floor entrance with flagstone floor and adjoining reception facilities, leading to a spectacular 16th century round tower, with medieval arrow-slit (“meutričre”), stone-carved coat-of-arms (“blason”), and original spiral stone staircase giving onto luxury first-floor living space, comprising a large, comfortably furnished salon complete with large open fireplace with wood-burning stove, and

fully modernised country kitchen, both rooms having lovely unimpeded first-floor views across the countryside. Move up a further flight of the spiral staircase to the spectacular second-floor oak-beamed bedroom, very spacious with even more distant views, and immediately adjoined by a stylish fully-modern bathroom. The whole house, including the medieval entrance and tower, has gas central heating radiators for the cooler months.

Adjoining the entrance, you have gated parking for your vehicle, and exclusive use of a pleasant secluded garden, ideal for relaxing in the afternoon and evening sun, enjoying your glass of Chablis!

The house adjoins the Owner’s own accommodation, but the orientation is such that you are assured complete privacy in your house and garden, and separate access from the road, both on foot and for your vehicle. We are on hand if needed, but are happy to stay invisible as much as possible.
